Healthy, all-natural, organically grown!!
Nutrition is a huge factor in healthy people and healthy dogs. I believe in feeding and caring for my family and animals to the best of my ability. As a family we are striving to improve our health by eating all natural – no preservative products. We have a long way to go in this area, but we are gaining ground! Research is showing all the junk and preservatives we put in our food sources is causing major health concerns. Currently we are raising our own beef, all natural, no antibiotics, no growth hormones, etc. We also, with the Lord’s blessing, eat elk as a main part of our diet. We are blessed to have fresh free-range chicken eggs and fresh goat milk as well!
I believe the same is true for dogs. I am striving to feed the best food possible to our Jacks. I have chosen a high quality dog food. The number one ingredient is real meat… first on the label, not any type of “meal” product. It also has naturally pure fruits, herbs, vegetables, multiple whole grains, dried chicory root, flaxseed, and optimal levels of essential vitamins and chelated minerals.
I also make up my own healthy powder, which includes nutritional yeast, lecithin, kelp, eggshell powder, vitamin C, flax seed, wheat grass, pumpkin seeds, garlic powder, and alfalfa. All of these have shown to help decrease incidences of cancer and improve overall health. This is feed to all my JRs on a daily basis.
I feed my nursing JRs, and puppies from 6 weeks – to full growth a homemade basic food mix which includes millet, bulgur, rice, oatmeal, healthy powder, nutritional yeast, eggshell powder, canola oil, organically grown ground beef, cottage cheese, fresh eggs, and fresh goat milk. This helps to provide healthy, strong puppies and mothers.
Think about your dog's nutrition in a new light ~ would you eat hot dogs day in and day out? How would you look and feel? High quality dog food and a healthy supplement program is a necessity!
In addition to daily exercise and plenty of fresh air, I hope and pray to raise the healthiest, happiest Jack Russell possible.
